Worms - which one is your favourite?

I'll copy this from wikipedia for those who have never tried it:

Worms is an artillery video game developed by Team17 and released in 1994. It is the first game in the Worms series of video games and was initially only available for the Amiga. Later it was ported to other platforms.

Worms is a turn based game where a player controls a team of worms against other teams of worms that are controlled by a computer or human opponent. The aim is to use various weapons to kill the worms on the other teams and have the last surviving worm(s)

Here are some of the versions released:

Worms
Worms 2
Worms Armaggedon
Worms World Party
Worms 3D
Worms Forts
Worms 4 Mayhem

------

Its a great game when playing the computer but really comes into its own when you are playing a friend on the same telly or via the internet.

My favourite version is Worms World Party which was released on both the PC and Dreamcast around 2001, the Dreamcast version is easier to play a friend on a big telly.

Ive tried demos of the 3d versions, but for me the 2d version was best.

Only played Armageddon and World Party from your list and also Worms Open Warfare.

For me, it would be world party FTW. But i must say the kids play them a lot more than me now

armageddon was my favourite, it was another one that i could change the silly voices too and still the james bond is my favourite just the cute way they would shout revenge when they got the other team back made me feel all the more better for losing nearly every game lol

The original rocks; by far the best thing about worms was being able to name your crew. My squad was regularly Coughing Fit, Harry the Bastard, Something Undescribable and Everyone's Dad

Oh yeah... forgot.... SHEEP RULE!!!!

Chopper is the one for Worms though.... showed us things we only dreamed of.... going the "wrong way" up a ninja rope etc... the man had studied

I liked the original best also. I have a version for my phone but it kinda sucks but not bad for a multi-player phone game.

But my fav is Leiro for a worm type game it's free too and you can make your own levels and mods.

It has to be the original, it was groundbreaking.

I've played the original on a friends Playstation, but I do prefer the more cartoony look of the later versions.
