Question: winlogon

Ok so I had a warning from my antivirus last night about having a virus, but I clicked the "heal" button and it said it had fixed the virus...

When I started the computer this morning it said that the computer couldn't start the program winlogon.exe because sfc_os.dll was missing, but the computer works perfectly fine, and when clicking ctrlaltdel to check the process thingy it says that winlogon.exe is running like it should...

Could there be any problems with this, because everything seems to be working fine...?

if a dll is missing, download it from the net and put it in the folder manually..

yeah but some pages says that sfc_os.dll is needed and should be downloaded if missing, or it could affect your computer speed...

but some pages says that sfc_os.dll is not a legitimite file, and that it is a kind of hidden spyware...

good idea ^^ the newest free version of avira is said to have anti-spyware-features..

well just now I used AVG Free Version and found and removed 3 viruses

I tried to update my Spybot - Search and Destroy but now I can't start that program... o_O

Try downloading MalwareBytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Also, do you have HijackThis? Grab it and post the log results, and I'll see if I can comb through it and help you out.

Absolutely run MalwareBytes....its a quick scan and picks up alot of stuff.
