Should we have a scam prevention thread/subforum?

Hi,
What do you think, should we have a thread or even subforum once playerbases from multiple different kinds of game join the forum?
Lets face it, wherever there are people, and the ability to p2p trade, there will be scammers, which means lots of games will have similar prevention techniques.
Naming the scammers mean you can avoid those particular ones or try to weed them out of the community, but as they can just make new accounts, it isn't all too useful. Making a list of common scams and how to prevent them would be very beneficial to new players.

No naming on a scam prevention forum destroys alot of the prevention but ok, for EU there are a few that allows naming so I guess that works

well naming on a scam forum will also pave the road for false accusations, etc... so not a good idea

No smoke without fire often applies to scams in EU

Even without naming, a scam-prevention forum would be quite useful here imo, especially considering that this a multi-game, multiplatform forum. If a particular type of scam is being experienced in a particular game, players of other games could be warned before it migrates to similar games.

yeah, or how about the "newbie gets angry at some higher-level player for irrational reasons and decides to ruin higher-level players reputation by accusing him of scamming"?

i think the naming part can cause problems when there are misunderstandings or just malicious intent.

I do however like to know the camming methods that are in use. I am familiar with most of them in EU, but not in other games. Common sense will help, but how do I know for sure when I join some other game that armor can or can not be colored or upgraded by someone with enough skill.

Its the dark side of may games, but discussion of the common or new scams would be helpful.

i dont think naming would be good for the reasons stated above.....

Which are easily discredited to no harm done. In EU history there have been scammers from top rank socs to lowest
