Cities XL (formerly Cities Unlimited) is a city-building simulation computer game. The game allows players to play online and interact with others on massive persistent planets, and to work together by trading resources or building blueprints in order to satisfy the needs of city inhabitants. Players can also play in a single-player mode. Both these modes require online activation and a monthly registration check.

This ambitious strategy game will take city-building gameplay and bring it online with multiplayer gameplay and social networking.

Yes, this game looks promising. But it is more focused on city building than the economics of it, anyways it's the first of its kind.

On a side note can someone post this thread in the New Games section too, or I can post another one there. I thought of having this same thread in both the sections like a merged thread, can it be done?

necroing but still - only things i have heard about it is that it is a mess.

Problems with their online servers etc. Besides, if their online servers are down, you can`t play anyway, because there isn`t 100% single player mode.
