These are just a few of the reasons why Diablo is better than Diablo II & Lords of Destruction.


Diablo = Strong female lead.
Diablo II = lack of the original characters

Diablo = Lots of blood and gore.
Diablo II = Less blood and gore.

Diablo = No gay advertising bots that join and leave games.
Diablo II = Tons of advertising bots.

Diablo = Cheaper than Diablo II.
Diablo II = More expensive than Diablo.

Diablo = A much better spell system.
Diablo II = Removal of the spell system and replaced with a "learning" system.

Diablo = Any class can use any item.
Diablo II = Only certain classes can use certain items.

Diablo = Much better storyline.
Diablo II = Not so much.

Diablo = You can finish the entire game with 3 other players.
Diablo II = With 7 other players you can only beat an act.

Diablo = You can do quests in games even if other players have completed it.
Diablo II = If another player in the game completed the quest, then you can't do it.

Diablo = No CD-key required.
Diablo II = CD-key

Diablo = Comes with a free demo version of the game.
Diablo II = Does not come with a free demo version.

Diablo = Your all on your own (other than the other players).
Diablo II = NPCs help you (and take your kills).

Diablo = You can duplicate items.
Diablo II = Item duplication has been removed.

I've not tried either but after that list I'll make sure to try the first one first or wait until the third.

A lot of your arguments aren't really addressing the heart of the games, but mere details that are an incredibly small percent of what the games are, or that are not even part of the game. For example, the storyline and spell system complaints may be valid, but be careful about using something such as cost or gore animation as determining factors when comparing the quality of the two games.

They both sounds nice, and I think form this list I'd probably prefer D1. D3, looks like a big horizon, and I don't think I'd buy any of the D series any way. Ohwell.

I´ve played both D1 & D2 and loved em both! Gotta love deckard cains voice too! But @ the moment I´m kinda fed up with the hack'n'slash genre...so I'll think I'm gonna pass on D3 actually...getting to old I suppose hehe
