Soon to be released this game is expected to be of very high quality due to the reputation of games Maker's/Developer's BioWare and also because of the delay of it's release, from Q4 2011 to 6th March 2012, made because BioWare wanted to have the best quality they could have for the game.
The story thus far is of Commander Shepard who has defeated the Geth menace in alliance with a Reaper, which is a race of sentient robots from "dark space", in the first game saving the entire Galaxy from immanent destruction.
In Mass Effect 2 he proceeded to battle the threat of Collectors, an alien which not much is known about, who turned out to be working for the Reapers by kidnapping entire Human colonies. After their plans were foiled it a Reaper, named Harbinger, was brought to the attention of the crew of the Normandy.
Mass Effect 3 continues this story with the player still controlling Commander Shepard who is to fight off an invasion force of Reapers from the planet Earth.
With this back story/information dealt with I can now talk about the trailers and Collector's Edition extras (should you choose to pre-order).
This trailer named Invasion was the first released as a Live Action trailer for ME3. It displayed and explained the current situation of the planet Earth as the story unfolds as the Reapers start invading and butchering the Human race.
Fall of Earth trailer for ME3 shows (what I assume to be) some of the very first in-game cut scenes that will be featured in ME3 whilst also showing off a fragment of actual game play. The video shows very well how big the enemies that will be face are, some of the new weaponry and the quality of graphics that has been applied to the in-game world.
The third trailer release, Earth, opened up hyper-realistic graphics (as to be expected of a trailer) and a lone soldier thinking back revealing the opening story of ME3 and placing the importance of your mission as Commander Shepard upfront.
The Collector's Edition of this game will include quite a few extras (much more than ME2's Collector's Ed.). All of these extras can be found on
http://masseffect.bioware.com but to save you time I'll just list them here.

So far from the current trailers and small tidbits of information from the Mass Effect Wikia, Mass Effect 3 is shaping up to be a fantastic game, that I personally can not wait for. The extras included in the Collector's Edition are certainly something to get (personally I am looking forward to the Lithograph!) but of course, not necessary to play what looks to be thus far, an amazing game.
This may sound a lot like a review (yeah probably is) but I'll be doing on after the release on March 6 2012. This is just here for people to discuss the upcoming game and what they think about it at the moment, like what you liked in previous games, what you didn't and improvements you hope are being made.
