I have no experience of them directly, but I do know that they state that they provide a truly unlimited 'unlimited use package'.
There was a big issue recently about companies who provide supposedly 'unlimited download' packages but whose customers are actually subject to a 'fair use policy', and some companies were restricting or even terminating the contracts of those customers who downloaded a lot. Apparently, as a result of the publicity, Sky came out and said that they were proud that their unlimited use package really does mean unlimited. This is useful if you download a lot of course
I would have tried them out, but I don't live in an area they cover, unfortunately.

I use Sky broadband, I have done for a long time. I have the 16mb connection and can honestly say that I've never had a problem with it. I've not noticed any slowdown to indicate that they work off a 'fair use' policy. I would recommend them.

Weird. I'd have thought Sky would cover just about everywhere by now.

Not available in my area yet, so cant comment.
But as soon as it is available where I live, I will certainly read more about it - subscribing

I used to use Sky a number of years ago, the service was good and technical support was top notch.
Only reason i switched was that I managed to haggle a better deal out of NTL by offering to switch my TV phone and internet. Sky wouldn't match NTL so they went.

yeah thats the kind of thing i was thinking with sky, the full package, tv, phone and net. ive seen they have some great offers at the moment but i just remember all the bad things when they first started offereing the service and i dont seem to of heard good things (havent heard bad either) now they are up and running properly.
at the moment i have only tv with them, cant get ntl or cable. but if they have a reliable, good service then it might be worth paying less to my current provider and going with them. but i dont wanan make the switch and find out there terrible and be stuck in a weird 3 month - year contract.

Remember that a contract will become null and void if you are provided with an inadequate service and the provider is unable or unwilling to rectify the problem. I have got out of a mobile contract in the past by arguing that i wasn't getting what i had paid for. Just make sure you are clear on what the contract will provide (i now Virgin lost alot of contracts bcause they failed to mention thir speed capping in their old TACOS, which allowed hundreds to simply walk away from their contracts).
