cant really agree with you. They throttle stuff and also work together with the media industry to make the internet a worse place.

Good that the service itself seems stable / fast, wich is the most important part for playing online.

There has been some things Virgin didn't really get kudos for though, like limiting p2p traffic, sending disconnection letters to uploaders and saying it was an error afterwards, far going 'statistic research' with their customers with an opt-out instead of opt-in (considered as datamining by some), and censorship on isp level...

But I can imagine a lot of people don't mind the thoughts and actions of their ISP so much (or at all) as long as the service is good enough for what it's used.

I'm with Virgin but I'm disappointed that they have sent me a letter explaining they are going to upgrade my 2mb to 10mb and charge me £2 a month extra for the privilege.

Tbh, I dont need 10mb, I don't even use 2mb so would have preferred they leave my internet connection as it is and leave the price the same but it wasn't given as an option.

I am hit by the recession and with all my other bills going up much higher than inflation I could have done without it.

Other than that (oh and charging £1.75 pm for paper billing now) the service has been excellent.

Still considering an alternative ISP though.

Last I heard only certain areas were being throttled, perhaps your lucky enough to be outside the throttling zone.

Virgin Media are allways thinking up new ways of screwing their users.

Stop Virgin

I'll dig out my e-mail from Virgin when I get home, but I swear it was a free upgrade from 2 to 10 meg.

The Virgin service works a treat from me and I have had no problems with it whatsoever.

Seems I failed to read the link that pointed to the £2 charge for the 10mb upgrade.

Not that I am too worried cos I was considering upgrading anyway and £2 is far cheaper than it the upgrade would have been (~£7).

Guess I will read the e-mails more carefully in the future.
