Here you can discuss all aspects of WoW: Character type, level you achieved, guild you're in, quests you're on, cool and unique itemz you've looted, and any other aspects you want to discuss.

Have fun!

Ah, WoW. Just not long back managed to get to lvl 80 on my Warrior Tank, now starting the long process of learning "how to play" at a Tank properly. In a great guild at minute on Alonsus server called Dragonsworn, great bunch of ppl from across europe and having some proper laughs on the guild Ventilo server Nothing like listening to someone after a few beers singing away to anyone and everyone who'll listen

I actually quitted WoW (I only played it for three months in summer 2007, therefore really excessively, at least, enough to get three of my characters to level 70).

While I played I only played Undead and had all classes of it. My level 70 characters (if they didn't get deleted by the system yet) are Mage, Priest and Warrior.

But like to remember back this short WoW-carreer having raids with up to 40 people on the teamspeak server. Anyway, I had to quit it as long as I could.

The one thing that could do with addressing in WoW is the endless grinding when you top out. I have no interest in going through levelling another character ( i have just the Warrior) but day after day having to repeat the same tasks just to grind Rep for better gear get on my tits tbh. If it wasn't for the guild aspect i think it could get very tired very fast!

SoE has introduced a mechanism to get around this in EQ2. For each character you have at max level you get a XP bonus of 10%. If you have 5 max characters and you level a new toon - that's a 50% bonus.
Quote:
"All of your characters will now receive a 10% experience bonus for each character at the maximum level. (Up to 50% max). You’ll also receive a tradeskill experience bonus for each character at the maximum tradeskill level. Your current experience bonus will be displayed on the character selection screen. This experience bonus can be disabled on a per-character basis by right-clicking on the experience bar. "
Takes a lot of the grind out of making a new toon.

Thx for that info, but I'll be honest it's the grinding (timekilling) that really bugs me. It took me a few months of the time i have available for gaming to get 1 toon to lvl 80, even knowing what I know now it will take up too much time (and my patience) to get another 1 there. Maybe i'm just too impatient for a lot of the games, or maybe i need more time for dedicated gaming... damn work

I can get past any graphical look as long as there is something to hold me with the game. In WoW it has been the awesome fun i have had spouting crap over the guild Vent server and running with the gang ( i guess it helps that the Guild i'm in is predominately from the "mature" gaming community).
In SWG it was initially that i enjoyed the scenario and sad as it may be I got a kick from seeing Darth Vader and Luke in a couple of the cities one time

Never tried it. Is it any good?

I get the impression that it is just a levelling sort of thing for kids?

But I stand to be corrected
