What would you recommend?

As you may or may not know, EU is the first MMORPG that I ever tried. To this day its the only online game I play - was the real cash economy story I read about that got my attention.

My question to you all is this - if I was to slow down on focusing on my EU avatar and maybe branch out into another MMORPG for a while, which game would you recommend and why?

I like the RCE aspect of EU and the controls I found very easy to pick up. But I have had no real experience in other games.

Any suggestions? Not that I am leaving EU - hell no.. I've invested too much time getting to where I am now - just want to see what else is out there

I'd recommend Anarchy Online

It's theme is Sci-Fi, you can grind or do missions on an alien planet pretty much like you are familiar with, and it has a free trial mode.

It's graphics will appear dated but maybe after playing it for a few weeks, and not worrying about your items decaying, you'll want to resume your Entropia avatar.

Of course, you may want to play something completely different and in which case I'd point you towards MMORPG.com.

Guild Wars - I highly recommend Guild Wars. You can buy the original game (game of the year edition) for less than $20 on Ebay.

For that money you get unlimited play and no subscription fees. I like the dreamy feel of the graphics. But the best part is regardless of how many skills you have - you can only fight with 8 skills. (You load up your bar before going to an zone.) This adds an incredible amount of strategy to combat. Not just mouse clicking or button smashing.

There is less grinding in GW (or at least XP or level grinding) that other MMOs because it is easy to get max level. But, you are encouraged to do missions because some of the best skills are captured from bosses along the way.

For $20 you'll be hard pressed to find more fun.

At the moment i wouldnt recoment anything, everything that has been released lately and most other games aer kinda crap. Sure there is eve but it takes a certain person to like it.

The game industry needs a shot in the arm kinda and needs to reinvent itself.

If u dont mind being a superhero, i would recommend trying out City of heroes/City of villains, it has alot of fun content and is a very social game too. Half of the fun is making your hero or villain, choosing powers making a backstory, name etc

Would have to recommend - Gulid Wars -
I only play it occationaly but b/c there is no monthly fee if I go 3 months with out loging in no loss.
When everything else feels like a grind I will play it for a week or so then normaly back to EU

& as someone said above you can pick up the origainl for ~$20

I'd recommend Guild Wars too. The world is huuuge, and, as has been mentioned, you only pay once. I hate having to pay subscriptions for games that I may only play once or twice a month. Plus the artwork is incredible, their art/design team has won many awards.
