Afterworld

From the company's website:

"AfterWorld is a "free market economy" persistent-world massively multiplayer online game set in a science fiction setting of post-apocalyptic Siberia. The game currently features:

• A complex and unusual skills based role-paying system that involves more than a hundred different skills with each of them developing using unique game mechanics.

• An advanced craft system with branchy production chains currently containing thousands different items.

• A real-money trade in-game economic system designed in such a way that the resources farming does not ruin the balance but is a part of the gameplay for high-level characters.

• 18 picturesque locations covering more than 100 square kilometers of Siberian vasts.

The game is currently run at the Alpha stage, Beta version release is scheduled at the end of 2009."

Alpha testers are being accepted and so far it's a great world to explore and play. There are tons of things to do and you can help test this awesome development while enjoying the game play. Although the game is being developed by a Russian company, you can choose to run it in English (most chats are in English as well). You will also find some gaming societies from other popular cash economy games in there already. Check it out at: http://www.afterworld.ru/

Cheers,
Maduro

It's still in Alpha testing (has been for quite a while now) ultimately it will be a lot like EU but an awful lot different at the same time.

It will have an RCE to it, currently you can only donate in exchange for in game currency and this as well as certain items/skill elements will be wiped on the road to commercial release. (Search the game forum at http://talk.afterworld.ru for details).

The ability to withdraw money from the game is not currently available as money is only donated not deposited.

I have an account, but haven't done much yet.
It also has the equivalent of an RCE but as Seven says, the project is still in Alpha so no withdrawl or official depositing yet.
At the start, there are 'bins' with free low level decayed tools in which you use to gain your first few items to sell; chopping up kinds of trees, procuring herbs, mining rocks - it could be seen as the equivalent of sweating in Entropia.
Technically, it could be as tedious as sweating, but to me, it was more fun. However, that may just be the 'novelty factor'. Haven't been on it in a little while (actually more of a a year-ish gap) so things may have changed quite a bit since I was last there.

I've been playing it for about 3 months now, my account is much older, but I didn't log in much till recently. I think the game has a lot of potential, although it still has a long way to go, and the constant bickering on the forum gets a little old.

I think I played this for a bit to check it out.

Wasn't there a rumor of a lawsuit by MA over some aspect of the game? Didn't they call their money PEDs or something at the start?

This is one of the main reasons I'm not as close to the game as I would like to be, and with a relatively small community it makes it seem worse when it spills into the game too.

But things will improve I'm certain

I have never played it, was stuck at their wiki page to realise it'S too similar to eu in certain aspects and I am too fond of that one to just start another one.

But I know quite a few who left eu for that one and when, if they log in again they think eu is pretty backwards so no chance of me even trying to warm up with it, lol

AW is more different than you would think on
first View.

AW has no Player filled Lootpool, there is no
Luck needed, some Knowledge is enough to
make your Way without use your CC often.
