HQD

GamersHQ Dollars (often called HQD) are the "currency" of GamersHQ. This systems rewards active members for creating and participating in computer and video game related discussions.

Links to all HQD functions can be found in the Quick Links menu of the navigation bar at the top of every page of GamersHQ.

Members earn HQD through various forum activities (explained below), and can use accumulated HQD to purchase items in the HQD store, donate to friends, play games in the arcade, etc.

How to Earn HQD

• Creating new threads - Every time you create a thread, you receive HQD. The amount awarded for a new thread varies depending on the forum or subforum. You receive additional HQD for creating a poll within your thread. Note: Threads and posts in the About GamersHQ and Off Topic forums do not award HQD.
• Replying to threads - You also receive HQD by posting replies to other members' threads
• Replies to your threads - You receive HQD every time another GamersHQ member responds to a thread you have created.
• Views of your threads - You also receive a small amount of HQD each time a logged-in member views a thread you have created (once per 24 hours, so repeatedly refreshing pages to unfairly earn HQD will not work).
• Blog Entries - You can also earn HQD by posting to your member blog.
  [*}Gallery Uploads - You earn a small number of HQD for game-related images that you submit to the GamersHQ Gallery.
• HQD Bank - You can deposit your unused HQD in the HQD Bank, and earn 1% interest per month (Founding Members earn 2%).
• HQD Member Paychecks - All members who are active within the previous 7 days earn a weekly HQD Paycheck.
• Refer new members to GamersHQ - Refer your friends and gaming buddies to GamersHQ and earn HQD. More details in this thread: Earn HQD by Referring New Members to GamersHQ.
• Submit game reviews - Submit a review in the GamersHQ Reviews section, and earn 100 HQD. More details here: GamersHQ Product Reviews.
• Arcade Jackpots - Beat one of the highscores in the GamersHQ Arcade, and win the jackpot for that game. Each game costs a certain number of HQD to play, which goes into the jackpot pool. **NOTE** If you have purchased a free arcade pass, you must select the option to pay for an individual game session in order to qualify for the jackpot.

The formula for HQD awards factors in many criteria, including: the particular forum or subforum in which a thread is created (the more specific a forum, the higher the award), length of a thread/post, thread ratings, and several other factors. The best way to earn HQD is to be an active and regularly contributing member of the forum, and by creating interesting and popular threads in the proper forums. Moderators and admins will also regularly award HQD to members who exhibit exceptional contrbutions to the GamersHQ community.

Where to spend HQD

• HQD Store - The HQD store offers many ways to spend your hard-earned HQD: downloadable games, CD Keys, gift certificates, gear and more.
• Donations - You can donate HQD to friends or members who have impressed you with their postings or contributions to the GHQ community. Donations can made directly within a thread by clicking the "Donate" link under a member's avatar, or by visiting the HQD store.
• Arcade - Play games in the GamersHQ Arcade. Each game costs a certain number of HQD, or you can purchase an unlimited pass which will allow you to play games for free for 10 days.

Rules and Restrictions

The HQD system is in place to reward members for their contributions to the GamersHQ community, and to enhance the user experience on GamersHQ. We plan to continually refine and expand the HQD system and items available for purchase. We hope you enjoy the HQD system, and welcome any suggestions for improvements in this thread.

***Any abuse, manipulation or interference of the HQD system will result in the immediate loss of all accumulated HQD, and exclusion from the HQD system, and/or banning from GamersHQ.***

One thing, will you put in a small conversion rate section in there for future reference?
Or will we sort that out for ourselves as humans are always fighting over values of things?

Just out of interest, does that mean you have to be active every day for the 7 days, or at least 1 day of the 7 days?

I'll post it right after MindArk posts the loot algorithm

I gave many hints on how the HQD forumla is weighted, and how to maximize your HQD earnings:

• Post interesting new threads in the gaming-related forums, threads that engage other members to participate in a discussion.
• Participate in existing gaming threads, and share experiences, info, opinions, etc.
• Submit reviews of games in the Reviews section.
• Post to your gamers blog.
• Be active on GHQ.

Very straightforward.

The albums feature is new to vBulletin, and did not exist when the credits (HQD) addon was last updated. Hopefully in the next version, the HQD system will support award for albums, social groups, etc.
