It worth it.
I did run seven even of very very low configuration aka P3 800 with 512 meg ram...It is not really faster(no power gain) than xp on a such low configuration , but evrything is way smoother , and the ram management is way better.
I tested it also on p4 2gb , and dual core with 4 bg ram...
Evrything is faster ,smoother , better...
You can load what ever driver or softweare , almost evrything manage to run with the compatibility mode...
I did load on the 64 bit , vista 32 bit driver( i was testing)... and it works lol...
I hope M$ will make out seven in october...
as for card , well , if you have some money go for nvidia, if you try to be eco go for ati...
And for builder , i think gainward is not much more expensive than other , but got a serie called golden sample , wich seems to be very very quiet.( i hate noisy card).
