Question: iPhone a graphical contender?

I just read a story about the iPhone getting a version of Assassin's Creed that looks just as good if not better than Playstation 1's better looking games.

Does this mean that the iPhone is an actual contender in the handheld console wars?

Maybe not this version, but iPhone2 (if ever) might be able to match up with the PSP or DS, either way this is an interesting accomplishment.

I haven't seen the original game and can't compare but with the amount of really amazing games it is a contender for a long time even without this release .

I'm not counting "cell phone games" like tetris, peggle or bejeweled. This is a full out 3d game. Obviously it doesn't look like it's bretheren on the PS3 or 360, but this ranks up there with the graphics of the PSP.

I'm talking only about 3d games - , , , , - and all these games are over a year old and now there are must be much more, I just lost interest in playing on iphone after the first week and not aware about newer games .

Its not like could it be? iPhone IS the biggest competitor versus the DS and PsP
