Yeah thats the same here in Finland 18 € / month even if you dont watch YLE, but you dont have to pay if dont own a telly, which is the case with many of us here in Finland, we have our aquariums under a blanket, if a inspector happens to come by and have a looky-see...

My television bill is about $35 CAD/month and I've often thought of cancelling it. I can't bear the thought of watching another minute if reality TV. I do like a few of the newer sitcoms, but as a whole, I don't watch TV. Seems weird to not have it though... I wonder why.

Lol... any of you Brits remember the Young Ones episode where Vivian ate the telly when the inspector was coming by?

Fortunately I don't have to worry about the cost but for me it's more about the time. A game better be pretty damn fun for me to spend time playing it. Some have been a lot of fun though. I like FPS like battlefield 1942 where I can log in and shoot the hell out of people for 20 minutes then log off to do other things. That's fun for me and is worth the cost of my time.

So, the consensus is that the $ value of entertainment can be very high if the quality is good?

well, that is subjective, cost being high, depends on income, right?
I have passed on buying some games even though I really wanted to play them and heard they were really good, and waited until later when the price dropped.

I will probably never play a subscription type of game, the thought of adding another monthly bill bothers me. If I have a good month at work, I will deposit to Entropia or maybe buy a new game, but if work is slow, well, there are lots of "Free" games or games I already own.
