Bethesda moves to rescind Fallout MMOG liscense from Interplay

Hellforge.Gameriot is running a story about Bethesda Softworks attempt to pull its Fallout license back in house to potentially develop a Fallout MMO itself.

What makes this interesting is the fact that the original license between Bethesda and Interplay stated that development must be underway within two years with successful deployment within six. These terms were agreed to back in 97, and the project is plowing along under the codename Project: V13 (a reference to Vault 13 from Fallout 1), but Bethesda is alleging that Interplay has failed to hold up their end of the deal.

This is definitely an interesting story which is sure to see many twists and turns during the course.

I for one would love to see a Fallout MMO, or even an Elder Scrolls, but with Bethesda's hard ass attitude, I'm sure it wont be any time soon.

Not surprising, Beth want to have the whole pie.

I really hope Interplay win this one.

Wonder how much difference to the design of the MMO this would make.

Sounds like it could be fun actually, a Fallout MMO.
Well lets watch and see what happens next.

MMO right. The charm of fallout was the single player storyline. If they manage to steal this from Interplay will just join a bandwagon of dozen same shit mmo scene(lolz,wtg,wtf,rolfls-want this in fallout?). Interplay wants to go ahead and make the real sequel for Fallout2, not some sort of Oblivion total mod conversation with Fallout flavour rated T for teens. Would suck if Bethesda wins this.
