Has anybody else has played Hover! ? It was an old game which came on the Windows 95 CD, and you were the controller of a bumper car and had to play Capture the flag against the CPU. In addition, there were little powerup things you could collect which would let you do stuff such as temporarily spawning a wall to stop an opponent in persuit, increase your speed, let you jump, etc. . The students at my old school used to play it in the spare times after IT lessons in school, as they upgraded from windows 95 but kept the cd's so there was one per person. It wasn't possible to play multiplayer unfortunately .

I am wondering if you know of any newer games with a similar theme, with better graphics and multiplayer support (over LAN)? Just something nice and light to play and compete with my brother and friends, and which is able to operate at a better resolution. As it was designed for such an old system, the max resolution was (in fullscreen) 640 x 480 .

EDIT: Wikipedia article: !
and download link (free): ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/deskapps/gam.../AAS/Hover.EXE but you can tell it is a very old game.

Don`t think a remake was ever made. Maybe this one comes somewhat close:

Some driving game based on Star Wars universe with hovering vehicles. You can buy upgrades `n stuff. Was pretty fun at the time.
