Amiga: favourite games?

i remember spending days and nights as a kid at my neighbours amiga 500, and i still think it was one of the best homecomputers ever (if not the best).. but that's another story..

anyway, it was also a unbelievable powerful gaming-machine.. i remember the excitement everytime we inserted a floppydisk - getting the far best sounds and graphics that were possible at that time..

unfortunately, while still being able to remember many of the games quite good, i forgot all the names..

well, i know one name - of a game that got me hooked from back then till today (20+ years!!): Space Harrier (ofc. the amiga version was the best, as with almost any other games from that days..

.. and Golden Axe

.. Ghosts'n'Goblins..

.. Populus ..

.. Stunt Car Racer..

(yay, writing this posts brings some names back already.. amazing )

if you can remember the names of some old amiga-gems, pls post here your favs

PS: if you're interested in this stuff, pls vote in this poll for a 'Classic Games' section on GHQ: Nostalgia

The game that annoyed me the most was probably Boulder Dash as I hate those types of games but they are still sooo addictive. And all of my friends wanted to play it

My favorites must be:

Shinobi (!!!)
North and South
Pang
Super Hang On (My very first game. I got it when it was brand new as it came with the Amiga when I got it, I was only 6 or 7 and its one of my most vivid memories from back then.)
Zak McKracken
Stunt Car Racer
Monkey Island
Wings
Rick Dangerous
Sensible Soccer
Kick Off 2
Cannon Fooder
The Blues Brothers (lol)
Winter Games (or something like that. I was a madman at biathlon)

I must have played close to 80% of all of those games.

Definately played those too, saw a thread about Monkey Island the other day and I had a niggling feeling I played that too on the Amiga. I googled for it briefly at the time to see if it rang any bells, it did look vaguely familiar but I couldn't be sure it was the game I had in mind.

no i know powerdrome.. the one i meant was another one.. no polygon-graphics.. flat road and terrain (technologywise similar to the classic outrun or lamborghini america).. it had quite 'dark' levels, i remember really nice post-appocalyptic graphic-style..
