Fixed-width forum skin
If you have a very large or widescreen monitor, you might prefer to view the forum in fixed-width mode.
At any time, members can change their current forum skin by using the Quick Style Chooser at the bottom left of any GamersHQ page:
Note that any changes made using the Quick Style Chooser will only apply to the current browsing session. If you log off, or view the forum from a different computer, the default (fluid) skin will be used.
However, if you would like to
always use the fixed width style, you can set your preference on the
User Control Panel > Edit Options page:
**Note** In order to keep the width constant at 1000px, several navigation bar items are relocated to the "Quick Links" menu in the Fixed Width skin.

Quickly insert a gallery or member album image into a post:
When creating a thread or post (or editing in advanced mode), there is a very handy tool to embed any images you have uploaded to the GHQ Gallery, or to one of your member albums.
Click the
My Photos link to pull up the image window:
In the lefthand dropdown, you can choose the location of your image: Gallery or Album.
In the righthand dropdown, you can choose how you want to insert the image:
For most images, you will probably want to select the "Original only" option, unless the image is very large and would expand the forum layout. For large images, you should select one of the thumbnail options. The "Thumbnail, linked to original" option usually works best for large images.

Reputation
GamersHQ features a system of peer review known as reputation. This allows members of the community to express approval or disapproval for the behavior, contributions and general conduct of fellow members.
To give reputation to another member, click on the scale icon in the member info area next to a post:
A small popup window will appear allowing you the option to give positive or negative reputation to that member, along with a comment.
Reputation levels are displayed just below a member's avatar and/or username, represented by neon colored pips:
As your reputation increases, so does the number and color of the pips. At very high reputation levels, a star is displayed, and the pip counter begins again.
Recent reputation comments you have received from other members are displayed in your
User Control Panel page:
- Green Pip: Positive reputation
- Red Pip: Negative reputation
- Blue Pip: User's reputation level is too low to affect your level
To avoid abuse, there is a limit on how many members to whom you may give reputation in one day, and how far you must "spread" reputation before awarding the same member twice.

Signatures
If you would like to include an image in your signature, you need to upload your sig image on the
User CP > Edit Signature page.
Signatures are limited to 500 x 120 pixels, and 150 KB in filesize. This upload form ensures that all signature images are within those dimension and size limits. If you attempt to upload a sig image larger than any of those, you will receive an error message.
After your image uploads, make sure to click the
Insert Image link to insert the image into your signature. Or, you can insert the following BB Code in your signature text area to display your uploaded signature image:
[sigpic][/sigpic]
This prevents extremely large images that disrupt the forum layout being used in signatures, and is why the IMG BB code tag is disabled in signature text.
**Note** Member signatures are only displayed in a given member's first displayed post on a thread page.
