Torque Engine

What do you all think about the Torque game engine? I've seen some Torque-based games that look good, and others that look terrible. It is an easy platform to develop in, or is there a trade-off of quality graphics for good mechanics? One cool thing about it is that a game can easily be compiled for Linux and Mac platforms other than the standard Windows.

Didnt EU use Torque earler?

The only Torque games Ive played are AfterWorld and Tribes 2 (I think they used Torque). Im not overly impressed but versitility might be just as important.

True, the ability of an indy, Torque-based game to compete in the Windows environment may be limited, but they may have much more success in the Mac and Linux worlds.

i only tried TGE once quickly, and i didn't really like the 'feel' and the scripting in TGE.
i returned to panda3d, where you can write just about anything in python (and if you cannot do it in python, you can still do it in C++)

I played a Warcraft knockoff using the torque engine a couple of years ago. It looks nice, but I don't think it's considered a top engine. Maybe it will produce ssome good games in the future.
