If you are then you should apply to study at the game programming program at the university of skövde in sweden it's one of europes best schools when it comes to game design/programming and probably the best one in sweden.

I'm studying there myself at the moment (deisng only though) and is soon ending my second year.
For more information you can check out http://www.his.se

One thing though, if you just like to play games and think you will be a good game designer because of that, dont apply! You will most likely suck at actually design games sadly. A lot of ppl think they will be great designers and that it will be fun to take a program like this cause they like games, but most often they will end up quitting. So only do apply if you really like to think it game terms and are making games on your free time and such, and if you like to figure out how games work on the inside etc.

I'd love to be a games programmer. I have been programming for more than half my life (I'm almost 39, and I started programming at 14).

My first computer was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum, and I learned Basic and Z80 assembler on it. Onwards - 64, Amiga, then PC. Language-wise I went from Basic to assembler (on spectrum, c-64 Amiga and PC), to C, Pascal, C++, Java.

A fair amount of Amiga demo scene assembler programming, which involved 3D graphics, raytracing, direct hardware interfacing (gfx chips, disk loaders, music players...)

Now I've been a Java developer consultant for the last 10 years.

I've always had a secret dream of game developing, but never really gave it a chance - jobs came along, and I opted for the security of what I had.

Too old to start going to school

GL on living my dream

There's only the 36 hour flight to get there and the language barrier

Seriously though, A university in my home country has games programming courses that teach you the works
