I tried this game briefly but didn't really get it.

As for the ads, most of the girls aren't even attractive, IMO.

I'm having a bit of fun with this even though I'm still in the beginner protection period.

Usually I steer away from RTS games but so far so good with this one. Plus, it plays on my little 9" Asus Netbook.

If you don't like PVP then steer away - like Eve you can be attacked by anyone at almost any time (there are some truce things you can use to prevent an attack but they can't be used 24/7.)
