NFS shift - weird stuff about the cars

There seems to be some weird stuff with upgrading cars.

M3 E92 is a lot faster than anything else i have tried from tier 2 and also half of tier 3? Of course i`m not an expert on cars but cmon, newest M3 upgraded to race standarts is a lot better than the mighty porsche GT2 tuned for racing? Doesn`t seem right... M3 have 771 BHP 0-100 2.0x seconds, max speed 345kph - sick!!!

Also - you can upgrade Lotus Elise quite a lot (tier 2 car) but you can`t improve Lotus...
